Desafíos del sector
Cada sector tiene sus complejidades específicas. Aquí las que nos encontramos en Seguros y cómo las resolvemos.
"The policy management system is twenty years old and the vendor only supports SOAP."
Adapters for Guidewire, Duck Creek, Ingenium and proprietary backends. An integration layer hides the core system's complexity and gives the app a modern, versioned, documented API.
"Quotes take eight seconds because we call twelve carriers in sequence."
Parallel quoting architecture with smart caching, per-carrier fallback and progressive rendering. The user sees the first quotes before the last ones arrive.
"Compliance rejects our digital purchase flow because it does not meet the Insurance Distribution Directive."
Onboarding with integrated KYC, automated pre-contractual documentation, legally valid e-signature and consent logging for IDD/DDA compliance from the first sprint.
"We want to launch a usage-based motor policy but we have no driving data."
UBI telematics apps capturing driving events — acceleration, braking, phone use — from device sensors, encrypted transmission to the scoring system and a driving dashboard for the policyholder.
"Policyholders call the contact centre because reporting a claim in the app is too complicated."
Streamlined reporting: guided photo capture, map location picker, AI-assisted claim categorisation and instant confirmation with a case number. Three minutes from start to submitted claim.
"We distribute life, motor, home and health from 25 carriers, each with different cover and product logic."
Modular architectures where every insurance line and every carrier is configuration, not a separate build. A central rules engine absorbs product heterogeneity without code sprawl.

Guía
The Spanish insurance sector has spent a decade promising to digitalise the end customer, and the insurers that pulled it off have concrete results to show: lower acquisition cost, higher retention and fewer calls to the contact centre. The ones that have not usually share a cause — they treated the app as a front end over an unchanged core system, instead of rethinking the journey the customer actually goes through.
Rastreator is one of our reference projects in the sector: an insurance comparison site with millions of active users that has to quote in real time against dozens of carriers with different APIs, heterogeneous data formats and wildly variable response times. The technical answer is not calling faster — it is quoting in parallel, degrading gracefully when a carrier times out, and showing results progressively so the user never waits on the slowest link in the chain.
Insurance distribution regulation — the IDD, transposed in Spain as the insurance distribution law — imposes specific requirements on pre-contractual information, documentation and consent logging. An app that does not implement those flows correctly is not a product with a compliance gap: it is a product that cannot be sold. That is why we build them from the first sprint rather than retrofitting them once legal reviews the release candidate.
Telematics for usage-based insurance is one of the fastest-growing areas in InsurTech. Motor cover priced on how someone actually drives — rather than on their statistical profile — shows higher retention and lower claims frequency. The engineering difficulty is not capturing sensor data: it is doing it without draining the battery, transmitting it with the privacy guarantees driving data demands, and giving the driver feedback they find useful rather than punitive.
Preguntas frecuentes
Yes. Rastreator is one of our reference clients — an insurance comparison site with millions of active users. We know the technical requirements of comparison APIs, distribution regulation and what real-time multi-carrier quoting demands.
Yes. We have integrated apps with policy and claims systems from the main vendors, as well as insurers' proprietary backends. The integration layer between app and core system is usually the component that decides the schedule.
We integrate leading KYC providers (Jumio, Onfido, Veriff, Sumsub) into the onboarding flow. For life, health or high-risk cover we also implement document verification, facial recognition and liveness checks.
Yes. Apps that capture driving data — acceleration, braking, speed, phone use — from device sensors, transmit it securely to the scoring system and give the driver feedback, with the privacy protocols the data requires.
The Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD, transposed in Spain as the insurance distribution law) governs pre-contractual information, sales processes and transaction logging. We know the disclosure requirements and consent flows, and we build them in rather than bolting them on.
A comparison site or basic policy management app starts at €40,000. Apps with real-time quoting, core integration, UBI telematics and advanced KYC run between €100,000 and €250,000. Cost rises sharply with the number of carriers integrated.
Yes. We sign an NDA before any technical exchange. For InsurTech projects involving actuarial models, pricing data or confidential product strategy we adapt access and tooling to the client's requirements.

“The comparison site that converts best is not the one with the most policies. It is the one with the fastest checkout.”
