Desafíos del sector

Los problemas de Retail que entendemos mejor que nadie.

Cada sector tiene sus complejidades específicas. Aquí las que nos encontramos en Retail y cómo las resolvemos.

🔗

Integrating legacy retail systems

"Our ERP is fifteen years old and the PIM does not even have a REST API."

Adapters for SAP, Dynamics, SOAP APIs and proprietary systems. A middleware layer absorbs the backend heterogeneity and exposes one consistent API to the app.

Performance with large catalogues

"The catalogue has 500,000 SKUs and the app takes eight seconds to load."

Smart pagination, local cache with invalidation, lazy-loaded imagery and search on Algolia or Typesense. The app has to feel fast even when the backend is not.

📦

Omnichannel that actually works

"Customers start on web, continue in the app and want to collect in store. Stock never matches."

Omnichannel architectures with a single source of truth for inventory, real-time sync and fulfilment logic that unifies web, app and physical store.

🎯

Personalisation without losing speed

"We want personalised products but recommendation engines slow the app down."

Recommendation models at the edge, A/B testing of personalisation strategies and ML pipelines that serve recommendations in milliseconds.

💳

High-conversion checkout

"68% of users abandon at checkout. We know UX is the problem."

Checkout designed for conversion: Apple Pay, Google Pay, integrated BNPL (Klarna, Sequra), saved payment methods and a two-step flow.

Loyalty and retention

"We have a paper points scheme we want to move into the app."

Points wallets, rewards history, loyalty QR for the physical store, expiry notifications and tier gamification. Integrated with existing loyalty systems.

      Guía

Retail app development in Spain: mCommerce, omnichannel and experiences that convert

Spanish retail is going through a transformation that goes well beyond having an app. The brands leading the sector understood that the mobile app is not one more channel — it is the centre of the customer relationship. mCommerce already accounts for more than 60% of ecommerce sales in Spain and that share keeps growing. The gap between a retail app that converts and one that gets uninstalled after a week is rarely the catalogue: it is the integration work nobody sees.

Backend integration is where most retail app projects get stuck. The ERP holds stock but exposes a SOAP API from 2010. The PIM has the product data but no API at all. The loyalty system is a legacy product that only talks to the in-store till. Connecting them is not a detail to resolve at the end — it is the architectural decision the whole project rests on, and it has to be made in week one.

Real omnichannel — not the version in the slide deck, the version that survives production — comes down to real-time inventory. When a customer picks 'collect in store', the app has to show the actual stock of that store's warehouse, not the aggregate figure in the ERP. Getting that wrong produces the worst possible experience: a confirmed order that cannot be fulfilled.

AI personalisation is the next competitive edge in retail apps. Recommendation models that weigh purchase history, browsing patterns, seasonality and the behaviour of similar customers lift average order value by 15-25%. The engineering challenge is not the model — it is serving it in milliseconds without turning the app sluggish, which is why we run those models at the edge rather than round-tripping to a central service.

      Preguntas frecuentes

Las preguntas que hacen los equipos de Retail.

Yes. We have integrated Flutter apps with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and PIMs such as Akeneo or Contentful. The integration layer between app and retail backend is one of the components that decides whether the project succeeds.

Event-driven architectures with WebSockets or Server-Sent Events to update stock in real time. For large catalogues we use caching with selective invalidation, so data stays fresh without punishing performance.

Yes. We have built points systems, discount wallets, loyalty QR codes and reward programmes. Gamifying loyalty is one of the strongest engagement drivers in retail.

Yes. Apps with barcode and QR scanning, POS and payment gateway integration, cart management and checkout without a till. Flutter has excellent camera support and works with the main scanning SDKs.

An mCommerce MVP with catalogue, cart and checkout starts at €40,000. Fuller apps with loyalty, AR try-on, AI personalisation and ERP/PIM integration usually land between €100,000 and €250,000.

Yes. We have built apps that connect the digital experience to the physical store: click and collect, in-store returns of online orders, appointment booking, in-store product location and augmented reality experiences.
