The challenge
Playfinder was already the UK's reference platform for booking sports facilities, but its mobile app was not living up to its market position. The team needed a complete redesign and technical rebuild that would improve the user experience, speed and the app's capacity to support the expected growth.
The solution
Dribba took on the complete user experience redesign and technical rebuild of the app in Flutter. The work began with an audit of the existing app and user interviews, which informed a redefinition of the key flows for searching, selecting and booking facilities. The new app was developed for iOS and Android with Flutter, with an architecture built to grow.

Playfinder is the reference platform for booking sports facilities in the UK. Its mobile app was functional but did not reflect the quality or ambition of the product, and the team decided on a complete rebuild rather than patching the existing solution.
Dribba led both the UX/UI redesign and the technical development. The new design simplifies the search and booking flow: location, filters by sport and facility, real-time availability and integrated payment. The app was built in Flutter for iOS and Android, allowing a single development team, a single QA process and complete experience parity across platforms. The app relaunch produced notable growth in user retention and the volume of bookings completed via mobile. Ratings on the App Store and Google Play improved significantly compared to the previous version, reflecting the improvement in user experience.
