The challenge
Esferica wanted to create a space where football fans could not only consume content but also produce it. The challenge was building a platform that combined competition and team tracking with podcast creation and distribution, while maintaining real-time notifications without degrading app performance.
The solution
Dribba developed the app with Flutter and chose GetX as the state management solution for its efficiency and simplicity. This combination enables real-time content updates — new episodes, match results, notifications from followed teams — with no impact on interface fluidity. Users can create their own channel, record and publish podcasts, and manage their team and competition subscriptions from a unified interface.
Results
After launch, users particularly highlighted the speed of the interface and the ability to personalise content by teams and leagues. The podcast creation feature opened a new channel of expression for the fan community.
Esferica is a sports podcast platform designed for football fans who want to go beyond passive content consumption. With Esferica, users can follow their favourite teams and competitions, listen to specialist podcasts and create their own channel to share analysis and opinions with other supporters.
The app was developed entirely in Flutter, delivering a high-quality native experience on iOS and Android from a single codebase. GetX was chosen for state management, enabling real-time push notifications for results, new episodes and team updates without penalising performance. As Flutter official Google Partner in Spain, Dribba applied ecosystem best practices to deliver a robust and scalable app.
Each user's personalised feed is built from their subscriptions to teams, competitions and content creators, ensuring that every time they open the app they see relevant content. The podcast creation feature includes recording, basic editing and direct publishing to the community.
